My story

 

1996: My journey began in 1996 as I discovered indexing after reading ‘101 Ways to Start Your Own Business’ by Christine Ingham.

 

1997-1999: I studied and completed the UK Society of Indexer’s correspondence course in indexing.

​

2000: After establishing myself as a freelance indexer and building relationships with publishers, I got my first commission. 

​

2020: I have now indexed over 400 books on a wide variety of subjects including education, history and science.

 

I also have experience of copyediting scientific journal articles, abstract writing and proofreading.

​

I am a member of the Association of Freelance Editors, Proofreaders & Indexers of Ireland, Society of Indexers (UK) and Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), formerly the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP).
